Ingredients
-
9 C. of Corn, Wheat, or Rice Square Cereal
-
1 C. Garlic Rye Chips
-
1 C. Cheese Flavored Crackers
-
1 Can Premium Mixed Nuts
-
1 C. Pretzels
-
½ C. Plus 2Tbsp. Salted Butter (1 ¼ Stick)
-
1 tsp. Onion, Powdered
-
1 tsp. Garlic, Powder
-
2 ¼ Tbsp. Smoked Bacon Salt
-
1 ½ Tbsp. Col. Pabst Worcestershire Sauce
-
1 ½ Tbsp. Soy Sauce
-
1 tsp. Celery Salt
-
2 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
-
2 Tbsp. Bacon Fat
-
6 Strips Bacon
Directions
Cook and crumble bacon, reserving the bacon fat.
Melt butter and bacon fat together in a heavy saucepan or frying pan, then add spices, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Stir to dissolve powdered and ground ingredients.
Meanwhile, assemble your large bowls of dry ingredients (cereal, garlic rye chips, cheese flavored crackers, nuts, pretzels, etc.) and toss gently to combine.
Slowly add the seasoned liquid to the bowl of dry ingredients and toss repeatedly to ensure the dry ingredients are coated evenly.
Spread the snack mix in a single layer on large baking sheets. Bake at 250°F for 45 minutes, gently tossing/mixing every 15 minutes to ensure even toasting. For the final 15 minutes, raise the oven temperature to 300°F to lightly brown the mix.
Allow the mix to cool completely, then enjoy. The flavor intensifies if the mixture is made a day in advance.
