Spotlight Spice: Ras El Hanout
This week's Spotlight Spice is our Ras el Hanout. This Moroccan spice blend whose name means "top of the shop" has been around for centuries. Families often have their own secret recipes, passed down from generation to generation.
Our blend contains sea salt, turmeric, dried chiles, and other warm spices including cumin, cinnamon, galangal, ginger, fenugreek, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves. It's warm, but not hot, and adds an amazing golden color and delicious flavor to roasted veggies and grilled or roasted meats.
Give it a try in traditional Moroccan dishes like couscous and tagines as well as in soups and stews, fish, and more.
