It's Hot Chocolate O'clock!

Hot Chocolate - Café Blend

At the shop, we love when the seasons change. Along with different weather and new clothing options (it's almost sweater weather!) what we cook and enjoy eating also shifts.

The arrival of cooler weather has us enjoying mulled cider, apple pie, and - starting this week - hot chocolate!  Our Hot Chocolate - Café Blend arrived this week, just in time for things to cool back down.

Our blend is made from cacao beans, cane sugar, cocoa butter, and vanilla beans, and is certified organic. We recommend using 1/4 cup of the cocoa blend to 1 - 1 1/2 cups of warm milk for a perfectly balanced mug of hot chocolate. Like most things at the shop, Hot Chocolate - Café Blend isn’t just a one-trick pony. Here are some of our other favorite uses for this sweet, chocolaty blend:

Café Mocha. Make a simple café mocha by using 1/4 cup of our hot chocolate blend, adding a shot of espresso or strong coffee, then topping off with steamed milk.

Rice Krispie Treats. Add some chocolaty-goodness to the mix by adding a tablespoon or two to your recipe.

Flapjacks. Add two tablespoons of the blend to your pancake mix to create tasty hot cocoa pancakes. Garnish with whipped cream and strawberries for an amazing flavor combo.

Popcorn. Toss your popcorn in a tablespoon or two of the hot chocolate blend. For extra credit, drizzle with melted milk chocolate morsels and toss in some marshmallows.

Breakfast Oats. Pass on the brown sugar and berries and mix in a tablespoon or two of the blend for a decadent start to the day.

You'll want to handle this tasty blend with care! It includes real, shaved chocolate, and it’ll melt in your hot little hands or in the car on a warm, sunny day. The mix is available in 1/2 cup jars and 1/2 cup, 8 oz., and 16 oz. bags which you’ll find in the shop or online.
